Southgate names final England squad for Euro 2024
Crystal Palace duo Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton handed first call-ups
Gareth Southgate has named his final 26-man England squad for Euro 2024, with Crystal Palace pair Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton handed their first call-ups.
Eze has been in impressive form for Palace this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 19 Premier League appearances.
Wharton, 19, has also broken into the Palace first-team this season, making 12 appearances in all competitions. He is the son of former England international Michael Wharton.
Southgate: "I'm excited to see what these young players can do"
Speaking about his squad selection, Southgate said: "I'm really excited to be working with this group of players. We have a good mix of experience and youth, and I think we have a squad that is capable of achieving something special at Euro 2024."
"Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton are two exciting young players who have both earned their call-ups to the senior squad. They have both been in excellent form for their clubs this season, and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do in an England shirt."
England's Euro 2024 fixtures
England will begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Italy in Rome on June 14th. They will then face Ukraine in Glasgow on June 18th, before completing their group stage campaign against Croatia in London on June 22nd.
If they progress to the knockout stages, England will face one of the third-placed teams from the other groups in the round of 16. The semi-finals will be held on July 9th and 10th, with the final taking place at Wembley Stadium on July 14th.
