Tottenham Hotspur put on a clinical attacking display in the second half to thrash Aston Villa 3-0 at Villa Park, as Son Heung-Min continued his goal-scoring form with four goals.
After a goalless first half, Spurs came out all guns blazing in the second period. Son opened the scoring in the 56th minute with a right-footed shot from inside the box, following a pinpoint pass from Dejan Kulusevski.
Kulusevski then doubled their advantage just six minutes later, tapping home from close range after a scramble in the Villa penalty area. Son completed his hat-trick in the 73rd minute with a fine curling effort from the edge of the box, before adding a fourth in the dying minutes to seal a resounding victory.
The result leaves Spurs just two points behind Aston Villa in the race for a top-four finish, while Aston Villa drops down to seventh place in the Premier League table.
Aston Villa will look to bounce back in their next match against Manchester City on Saturday, while Tottenham Hotspur will face Arsenal in a crucial North London derby on Sunday.
